3West KC is pleased to host The Fox Under the Flowers, a solo exhibition by Kansas City-based artist Erin Dodson. In this series of new walnut ink drawings, images emerge and dissolve in cycles of destruction and renewal, revealing a tension between obliteration and transformation.

The opening reception is Friday, April 11th, 6-9 PM, and the exhibition runs through May 17th, 2025 at 1106 Santa Fe.

Artist Statement: I sense that forces of growth and decay create spaces where the physical interacts with the metaphysical—I am looking for the divine within the world. When I draw and paint, I find myself making marks that move and shift without always settling into clear images. In this series, I’ve been pushing myself to try to make more complex, immersive compositions—seeing how images can arise from the sensations and emotions that compel me, and how they might give form to something felt but unseen.

Bio: Erin Dodson is an artist and curator from Kansas City. She earned her BA in photography at the City College of New York, and has pursued ongoing education in painting, ceramics, and sculpture. Erin is a 2024-2026 resident at the Charlotte Street Foundation studio residency.
